Laser surgery is in use for quite some time for the treatment of different diseases. Its use in treating acne has become increasingly popular over time as a result of modern improvements in this field. Laser surgery can do wonders in treating acne in a short period of time. Laser surgery can treat acne in three different ways. First of all, laser can be used to destroy sebaceous glands underneath the skin that is responsible for producing sebum on skin.
Excessive production of sebum leads to conditions that are hostile to acne. As a result of reduction in sebaceous glands on the skin, the production of sebum also reduces which ultimately helps in controlling acne. Secondly, laser surgery can also be used to kill the propioni bacterium, more commonly known as p. acne, which is also responsible for stimulating acne. This bacterium mostly feeds on the sebum on the surface of skin and secrets chemicals that form acne lesion on the skin. Thirdly, laser surgery can also be used to burn the follicle sac on the skin. It is the part of skin from which hair grows and pimples are mostly formed at this follicle sac.
There are a number of advantages of laser surgery over other acne treatments. First of all, it is one of the most effective treatments available today. Secondly, the treatment doesn’t take much time as compared to other treatments like home remedies. It usually takes 1-2 weeks for the skin to heal after surgery and there isn’t much discomfort during the healing process as well.
Disadvantages include the excessive cost. It is an expensive treatment and the cost varies from patient to patient. The cost of surgery depends on the type and degree of scars on face. The cost is usually estimated to be around 1000$ but it varies drastically from patient to patient and can move up to 5000$ from some surgeries. Another concern is the light spots leftover after the surgery and, in some cases; it may also cause dryness in skin although these cases are very rare. With continuous developments in this technology, laser treatment will not only become inexpensive in future but it will also become more safe and secure.

I once read that a herbal drink made of hamamelis is a treatment for hemmorhoids. Is this true? Or is there a better alternative? thanks L.
